OIL PAINT – One (1) – 37 ml tube of oil paint in the following colors:

YELLOW: Hansa Yellow Medium (Gamblin), Windsor Yellow (Windsor Newton) or Cadmium Yellow Light (Grumbacher)

RED: Cadmium Red Medium (Gamblin), Cadmium Red (Windsor Newton) or Cadmium Berium Red (Grumbacher)

BLUE: Ultramarine Blue (Gamblin), French Ultramarine Blue (Windsor Newton) or French Ultramarine Blue (Grumbacher)

BLACK: Ivory Black

MAGENTA (OPTIONAL*): Quinacridone Red (Gamblin), Permanent Rose (Windsor Newton) or Quinacridone Red (Grumbacher)

CYAN (OPTIONAL*): Phthalo Blue (Gamblin) or Thalo Blue (Grumbacher)

WHITE: Titanium White, Two (2), 37 ml tubes or One (1), 150 ml tube


You may use whatever paint you have as long as they are the correct hues or colors. An inexpensive option is Windsor Newton Winton student colors. ‘Artist Grade’ paints will produce better results in color mixing.


PAINTING MEDIUM: Neo MeGilp Medium 2oz or Larger


BRUSHES – Recommend artist quality pure synthetic oil paint brushes (no teklon pure white bristles) or any artist quality natural hog hair bristles VERY IMPORTANT. 1 #2 Rigger or Liner Brush and 1 each #6, #8 and #10 Long-Handled Filberts


PALETTE – Gray Matters, palette paper or equivalent


CLEANING JAR – Silicoil cleaning jar or other small jar with lid


CLEANING SOLUTION – 1 – 8oz bottle of artist grade Safflower oil


BRUSH CLEANER – 2.5 OZ small cake of The Masters Brush Cleaner


PAPER TOWELS – 1 roll of BLUE shop paper towels (OPTIONAL – add one more for homework*)
